Syndee Malek

Board Member

Syndee Malek is an educator, leadership coach, and professional learning designer with extensive experience supporting K–12 and higher-education leaders across Michigan. Her work focuses on strengthening leadership practice, adult learning, and systems that intentionally support social-emotional learning, equity, and belonging.

Syndee serves on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Social Emotional Learning Alliance (MiSELA), where she contributes to advancing and advocating for high-quality SEL through research, collaboration, and statewide partnerships.

She works closely with the Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association (MEMSPA), supporting current and aspiring principals through leadership development, coaching, and professional learning experiences that integrate instructional leadership, adult learning, and leader well-being. She previously collaborated with the Wayne Regional Educational Service Agency (Wayne RESA), partnering with districts to design and facilitate systems-level professional learning that embedded SEL into leadership practice and strengthened organizational coherence.

Syndee is known for her relational leadership style, her commitment to equity and belonging, and her ability to connect vision to actionable practice across classrooms, schools, and systems.
