​Lauren owns an LLC and maintains contracts with both the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) helping to advance the SEL work statewide and for the Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) supporting schools around school mental health. Additionally, she works part-time for the University of Michigan, TRAILS, school mental health program. She led the team at MDE in the creation of Michigan’s Birth through Grade 12 Social and Emotional Learning Competencies, along with companion resources to support SEL implementation. She developed nine SEL online modules for educators housed at Michigan Virtual and chairs the Michigan SEL Alliance (MiSELA). Finally, in addition to Lauren’s expertise in the student mental health and SEL arena, she expanded her career to include a focus on educator well-being. She provides keynote, presentations, professional development and consultation to educators around the state on SEL and self-care.
